not only the colours - it's also a very nice composition. the only thing i find a bit disturbing is the format (somewhere in between standard and square format) but i guess you must have had a good reason to crop it like that . however, style-wise this is the kind of photography i like. it's just a very good photograph - maybe you should follow him next time you see him an do a series :)
and i don't agree at all about the brown hair:
1. it would make him younger and i like the fact it's an old-looking guy as it suits the old-fashioned living-room furniture
2. his head is too close to the red-brownish image of the cube, so brown hair would disturb the nice separation to the other source of red-brown tones, namely the reflection of the vest.
in photoshop i just used the paint bucket with brown colour on his hair and i was definitley right! :)

@NeeZee: Don´t you dare to download my photos!
Yes, I think you are right. But I don´t like that there is no contrast between his hair and the wall. Hey, what about green hair?
i would never download anything - just copy/paste ;)
hmm, usually i would say the less different colours in a picture the better, but green hair would be interesting.
i still think grey is pefect here, but maybe i'm just seeing more contrast in different grey tones than others as i shoot mainly b/w :) (actually there's also some traces of yellow in his hair).
